Sorry for the long winded post, keep us posted on how you proceed. ![]() My Goodwrench 350 is currently on my engine stand waiting on another project, I might put some decent heads on it and add more cam and intake, depends on where it lands next. COMP Cams CL Camshaft For 350 Chevy Best Top Pick Review. ![]() I’m not sure how much more cam you could put in this engine with its stock, 8.5-1 compression ratio. COMP Cams CL is the biggest and best cam for Stock Chevy 350 with. It had a Holley Street Dominator intake in both applications and a 600 Edelbrock in the El Camino, and the stock Quadrajet on the Suburban. My engine was in two different vehicles, first was an O/T El Camino, headers, 2-1/2,exhaust, THM 350, and 2.73 gears, second was an O/T 2wd Suburban, manifolds, 2-1/4 exhaust, 700R4, 3.08 gears. Smooth idle, not as smooth as stock, but works great with tall gears, and the less than optimum heads the factory puts on these engines. It’s not a high RPM screamer, but a great all around cam. If you look into the specs on this cam, it’s the same as the Edelbrock Performer cam. Then I added a Melling MTC-1, this is Melling’s torque cam or sometimes called an “RV” cam. ![]() I ran the stock cam for maybe a year and a half, long enough to get out of warranty.
